A wildly versatile angling tool indeed, TFO's exciting new Drift Rod enables anglers to pick the rod's optimal length and employment-mode based upon their specific environment and intended application. Modularly designed, the Drift can be assembled and fished as a traditional single-hand 9-foot 4-piece 3-weight fly rod... but with the extra included rod sections inserted, can be quickly and easily converted into a 10-foot, 11-foot 3-inch, or a 12-foot 3-inch tight-line Euro-nymphing machine, perfect for French, Czech, or Polish styles and more! The Drift features a purpose-driven down-locking reel seat with a removable weighted fighting butt that can be uniquely fine-tuned for balance (depending on the weight of your reel) using extra 3/8 inch washers that, together with its customizable longer lengths, helps ensure you'll make those 'leader only' tuck casts with accuracy and ease, at any range.
Additionally, should the need arise, the Drift further includes a 3-inch extended lower cork grip to replace the weighted fighting butt when desired, enabling you to employ the rod in two-handed Switch/Spey fashion, perfect for the new micro Spey lines and ultra-compact shooting heads fast growing popular! Thanks to its patented specialized stripping guides that allow anglers to add one or more sections to the rod without un-stringing line, leader and flies, all of the above rod lengths and employment-modes can accomplished on stream in a matter of seconds, while fishing, without ever having to leave the water!
