Long Strung Grizzly Variant Schlappen (1/8 ounce) by Nature's Spirit
A versatile fly tying favorite indeed, these eighth-ounce bundles of Strung Grizzly Variant Schlappen measures 4.00 to 7.00 inches long on average, and feature a uniquely soft, plush, and densely webbed texture from feather butt to tip. With thin supple stems, Schlappen is perfect not only for wrapping shaggy bodies on big bass and trout streamers, or winding soft hackle collars on salmon and steelhead wets, but great for use as an economical Spey hackle on small to medium sized patterns as well. A favorite substitute for wimpy neck hackles when tailing oversized saltwater baitfish imitations where a bulkier profile is desired, we even use stripped, bunched Schlappen fibers for making wonderfully animated tails, throats, and beards or our favorite nymphs and wet fly patterns as too. Available in a variety of popular colors certain to please, give our premium eighth-ounce bundles of Long Strung Grizzly Schlappen from Nature's Spirit a try.
